In 2020, we became a partner in the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) project.
Here, you will find a summary of the milestones in this vital partnership, which continues to flourish.
Our adventure began when we were introduced to NouvLR by a former customer named EBC inc.
NouvLR is the consortium commissioned to design and build the light-rail transit system for the Réseau express métropolitain (REM).
The group consists of SNC-Lavalin, Dragados Canada Inc, Groupe Aecon Québec ltée, Pomerleau Inc. and EBC Inc.
Our first contract with REM was to install stainless steel railings, handrails and cladding.
As we worked on this initial task, additional tasks were entrusted to us, including bollards, engraved plates, frames for foot grilles, stainless steel purlins in electrical rooms, elevator covers, ischiatic bars, gutters, protective barriers and various other items.
Responding to additional requests was no problem at all, because our strengths lie in our flexibility and versatility, enabling us to meet all their requirements.
Currently, five REM stations have been completed and are in operation.
To ensure that we meet our deadlines and continue to make progress, we are able to have up to three installation teams working simultaneously on the various REM sites.
Miscellaneous
-
To ensure constant coordination, one of our engineers, known internally as the “project manager”, works full-time on the project and is in constant direct communication with NouvLR.
-
One of the difficulties on major construction sites is the simultaneous presence of several trades and the coordination required to complete the work as efficiently as possible.
-
Our employees are sometimes required to work on scaffolding when carrying out cladding work at height. Therefore, it is important not to be afraid of heights to work in this field.
-
As a finishing subcontractor, we are repeatedly called upon to carry out complex custom work. Thanks to this finishing work, the end result is always impeccable.
