At Fils Métalliques Berthier (FMB), we prioritize the health and safety of our employees. To ensure a safe and protected working environment, we have implemented various initiatives.
To enhance employee comfort, we have soundproofed the compressor, significantly reducing noise levels in the factory. This measure creates a more pleasant and quieter working environment for everyone on site.
In addition to this initiative, we have installed clear markings and signage to delineate traffic zones in a factory area configured in a "horseshoe" layout. These indicators distinguish areas reserved for forklifts from pedestrian zones, ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow, crucial for our high-capacity production workshop.
One of our notable achievements in injury prevention is the introduction of foot protectors for tube trolleys, called foot guards. These devices are specifically designed to prevent trolleys from accidentally rolling over employees' feet, thus significantly reducing the risk of injuries.
Alongside this, we have implemented a mobile guard for the drill press, which restricts access to the drill bit during operation, protecting operators from potential accidents.
Furthermore, we have designed push-button handles for the resistance welder. This unique equipment allows for safer and more controlled use, reducing risks associated with welding operations.
Among ongoing projects, we are also working on adding a walkway to improve access to the compressor. This initiative aims to facilitate maintenance interventions while ensuring technician safety.
During the latest inspection visit, the occupational health and safety inspector commended our proactive approach and highlighted our recent innovations as concrete actions that enhance the safety of our team.
These initiatives illustrate FMB's commitment to creating a safe and caring work environment, while continually striving to improve safety measures for our employees. Together, these efforts demonstrate our ongoing dedication to the protection and well-being of all our employees.
